Located on Presque Isle State Park, a peninsula that stretches about 9 miles out into Lake Erie, Peninsula Drive is an incredibly scenic route and an ideal destination for a day trip. As you start on the south side you can see the city of Erie from across the bay. The north side of the peninsula has several beaches and picnic pavilions where you can catch one of top ten sunsets in the U.S.

Attractions & Points-of-Interests Along the Way
The attractions you'll find along the route:
- Beach 6 and 10 - the best beaches for swimming. There's food and bathrooms at beach 6 and there's armature kiting and wind surfing on the weekends at beach 10.
- "Sarah's" at the head of the park is a good place to eat.
- The "Sand Bar" at the corner of 12th St. and Peninsula Drive is also a great place to eat and drink.
- The walking trails along the route, such as Dead Pond trail and the Gull Point trail, provide an opportunity to view wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for foxes, bald eagles, sea gulls and tones of song birds.
- There are canoe rental and boat tours directly over the bridge past Perry Monument on south side.
