Your road trip starts next to the western edge of beautiful Lake George. Then the route leads you through awesome ridges and forests into the magnificent Adirondacks. Along the way you'll find plenty of pull outs to stop and take in the beautiful scenery. The route also travels past some abandoned stores and motels. On the way up there are a couple of towns that you can stop in for some food and shopping.

Along this route you'll travel through Bolton Landing, with its shops and restaurants. In Ticonderoga you can visit Fort Ticonderoga, which was a continuously active military post between 1755 - 1781. After you get onto Rt 9, there's hardly any places to stop for gas or food.
