Scenery You'll See
The Peak to Peak Highway is Colorado's oldest scenic byway, which was established back in 1918. Lying within close proximity to the cities of Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins, this 55-mile-long route takes you through some of the most spectacular mountain scenery close to the Denver Metropolitan Area. Along this route you will also be seeing the incredible views of the Continental Divide and its timbered approaches. The numerous activities and attractions along the way combine recreation with nature preservation. The route provides access to high-country lakes, campgrounds, the Moffat Tunnel's east portal, and ghost towns at Hesse and Apex.
Towns/Cities You'll Pass By/Through
There are not many towns along this route. You can stop at the town of Ward though. Estes Park at the end of the route is a great tourist town.
Attractions & Points-of-Interests Along the Way
Attractions along this road trip include Rocky Mountain National Park, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and many more. There are several great pullouts to take pictures, enjoy the views or get a bite to eat and drink. Take a run past several of Colorado famous 14'ers! And make sure you don't miss the 4th of July parade in the town of Ward!

Attraction or Point-of-Interest recommendation: If you like Casinos & gambling, you need to plan to spend some time in nearby Blackhawk, CO - an awesome little restored mountain town that has wall to wall casinos in an old west mountain mining town setting.
