This route starts out as a trip through some flat farmlands. When you reach the base of Blanchard Mountain you'll find some tideflats, and then the route will take you through a lush forest with some cascading waterfalls. A couple miles further down the road you'll find some truly spectacular views of the Puget Sound, with the islands and boats.
Towns/Cities You'll Pass By/Through
You won't find many towns along this drive and certainly no cities. The roads Quality of the road are of good quality but watch for rock slides. It starts out with lots of flat, straight road, however when you get onto the mountain, it has lots of curves, just like any good canyon road.
Attractions & Points-of-Interests Along the Way
Along the way you can visit the Japanese garden at the foot of Blanchard Mountain (just before the curvy section of the route begins). You'll find plenty of restaurants that you can stop at for some outstanding seafood. Larrabee State Park has a beach as well as camping and picnic opportunities. The park can get pretty crowded, so plan ahead. At the end of this route, you'll come to Fairhaven, which is a neighborhood in Bellingham. You'll find plenty of great shopping and eating there.
